A little eggs-tra space

In this lesson children consider the welfare needs of chickens and what natural behaviours chickens exhibit. They learn about how laying hens are kept in both free range and caged production systems and consider to what extent the hens kept in each can display those behaviours. They also learn that information on egg packaging can tell us certain things about the way in which the eggs were produced.
